Word on the street is that most recruiting technology vendors are seeing a swarm of activity this year as we come out of the pandemic. We spoke to one vendor in the text recruiting space who's doing 20-25 demos per week. Guess employers have finally realized they need to upgrade their tech stacks.

Books by the CEO are the new marketing.

We've seen a slew of new book offerings from vendors with many of them putting their CEO front and center. Ziprecruiter's Ian Siegel, and Greenhouse's Daniel Chait are among them. SmartRecruiters published a book as well. Looks like books are the new marketing channel.

Speaking of Ziprecruiter

Zirecruiter held a virtual investor day today. The job site has done a tremendous job marketing themselves over the years to become a top brand in the job search space next to Indeed. They revealed that they have spent $600 million over ten years to become the consumer brand they are today.

According to their numbers they have an 82% brand awareness among employers. They also cautioned they will be spending heavily in marketing to maintain that momentum. That will definitely affect their profitability going forward.

According to their S-1 filing the stock trades privately around $8/share. One expert says it might IPO at $25. We shall see...
